A while ago there used to be a number of cashback credit cards available to apply for on the internet, but then a lot of companies started to withdraw their cashback offers or heavily reduce the percentage of cashback you actually got, which made them useless.

Now the Cashback credit card seems to be making a comeback with companies like Capital One, launching their Capital One Cashback Card credit card. This new credit card gives you an amazing 4% cashback for the first 3 months on purchases and then it drops down to 1% after that time.

 

Just think, you can get 4% cashback on all your shopping over the next 3 months! That could save you hundreds of pounds. Getting a Capital One Cashback Card is especially a good idea if you are planning on a big purchase like a holiday, a car, or any one off expensive item, as you could knock off 4% of the cost.

Cash back credit cards are not for everyone though, especially if you do not pay off your credit card bill every month, as these cards could come with a higher APR rate thus making you pay back more in interest than you saved in cash back.

Other cash back credit cards worth noting is the MBNA Platinum Card which pays you 1% cash back on the first £2,500 you spend per year, and then they give you 0.5% cash back after that.

The other cash back credit card is from American Express, but not all online retailers or shops ad restaurants actually take American Express in the UK, so I would stick with a card from Visa or Mastercard from either MBNA or Capital One if you want cash back on your purchases.
